چکیده

Increasing wheat production has become an urgent requirement to cope with rapid population growth and abrupt climate change. The management of phosphorus (P) nitrogen (N) is one the most important factors for sustaining increasing production, particularly in semiarid environments. This 2-year field study, which aimed investigate effect P levels (0, 35, 70 kg P2O5 ha−1) N forms (urea, ammonium sulfate, nitrate) on yield attributes three diverse high-yielding commercial cultivars (‘Shandawel-1’, ‘Sids-14’, ‘Sakha-95’), was carried out at Om-Elzain Village, Zagazig, Egypt. results indicated that accompanied by a substantial increase all evaluated traits, except spike length, high level (70 superior. Considerable genetic variation detected among studied traits. Cultivar ‘Sakha-95’, followed presented vigorous enhancements components, grain yield, biological yield. Furthermore, ‘Sakha-95’ recorded highest agronomic use efficiency, cultivar ‘Sids-14’. did not significantly affect tested traits plant height, number m−2, 1000-grain weight, during both seasons. Ammonium-containing fertilizer (ammonium sulfate resulted values these when compared urea. Accordingly, ‘Sids-14’ are recommended under levels. had marginally its attributes.

Response of Some Bread and Durum Wheat Genotypes to Different Levels of Nitrogen in South West of Iran

In order to identify the effects of different levels of nitrogen fertilizer on seed yield and seed growth indices of some bread and durum wheat genotypes, a field experiment was conducted in 2013-2014 in Khuzestan Agricultural and Natural Resource Research Center. The experiment was designed as a split plot with three replications. Nitrogen application rates (50, 100 and 150 kg N.ha-1) were ass...

Convergent responses of nitrogen and phosphorus resorption to nitrogen inputs in a semiarid grassland.

Human activities have significantly altered nitrogen (N) availability in most terrestrial ecosystems, with consequences for community composition and ecosystem functioning. Although studies of how changes in N availability affect biodiversity and community composition are relatively common, much less remains known about the effects of N inputs on the coupled biogeochemical cycling of N and phos...

Evaluation of Nitrogen Fertilizer on Yield and Yield Components of Bread and Durum Wheat Genotypes

The present study aimed at investigating the effect of different levels of nitrogen on yield and yield components of bread and durum wheat. To this end the experiment was conducted in 2010-2011 in south west of Iran as split plots based on randomized complete block design with three replications. Main plot included four levels of nitrogen 60, 120, 180, 240 kg.ha-1 and the sub plot included four...

Growth and Stomatal Responses of Bread Wheat Genotypes in Tolerance to Salt Stress

Plant growth is affected by the osmotic stress as well as toxicity of salt in leaves. In order to study of salt stress effects on stomatal conductance and growth rate and relationship between them as wells osmotic and Na-specific effects on these traits, four bread wheat genotypes differing in salt tolerance were selected. Salinity was applied when the leaf 4 was fully expanded. Sodium (Na) con...

Agronomic characteristics of the spring forms of the wheat landraces (einkorn, emmer, spelt, intermediate bread wheat) grown in organic farming

Organic farmers look to the possibilities of growing neglected crops, such as the spring forms of hulled wheat – einkorn, emmer and spelt – for support in developing the organic farming system. In 2008, 169 landraces from the gene bank at the Crop Research Institute in Prague were tested on certifi ed organic plots. The experiment was aimed at fi nding suitable varieties for the organic farming...
